You are outsourcing software development to a vendor, whom you have reason to believe will produce quality work within your budget and schedule constraints. But do you know who has the rights to the code when the project ends? Who maintains the code? Who provides the software tools to do the job? What the vendor is required to deliver in addition to source code? There are important questions for you (or your corporate lawyer) to ask when it comes time to sign a contract with a vendor.
