Format: Evaluation Form
The preliminary design review is a recommended procedure for transitioning from the analysis to the design phase of an application development project. It validates the conceptual design and initial aspects of the technical design and frames the specifications for the detailed system design. Use this form to guide your review of the preliminary design for relevance and compliance to the business environment as well as architectural integrity. It addresses questions and issues to examine in the key design areas of business requirements, user community profile, architecture overview, conceptual and behavioral design and system flexibility. Discuss with key project participants and record specifications that should be considered in the final system design.
