WORKSHOP OVERVIEWThe dynamics of today's operating environment means that the forces of change are inescapable. Whether it is the result of technological advances, the effects of globalization, or ever-shorter product cycle times, organizations must be able to constantly assess, strategize, enact and capitalize on new opportunities if they are to survive. Without question, an organization's ability to effectively manage change is now a mission-critical capability. Yet, many still struggle to align the different groups, activities, and approaches involved with managing change to function as a single cohesive entity. Worse yet, recent research shows that the problem is growing as the effects of specialization and a distributed workforce drive even more organizational compartmentalization and lack of operational alignment. Drawing from principles and practices from his book, Taming Change with Portfolio Management (Durbin & Doerscher, 2010), noted industry expert, consultant and author Terry Doerscher will guide participants through this fast-paced workshop and the steps needed to unify your organization and master change, from initiation to value delivery. Incorporating participatory learning with several team exercises and discussions to reinforce the learning experience, this one-day workshop is organized into five modules:
