Home > Articles > Who Are These PMs? by Nan Sauer June 21, 2000 As Jerry Seinfeld might say, "Whats the deal with Project Management certification?" Does the certification really make the manager, or is it just another attempt to pick your pocket of more than a few bucks in registration fees? There has been a lot of discussion recently on gantthead regarding this intriguing issue and wed like to hear YOUR thoughts on it, too. Being an admittedly un-certified individual myself, I cant really speak, firsthand, of the benefits that certification provides. However, I do know that lots of folks find that the certification process has focused their attention to the key issues and approaches that are industry-standard (or at least industry-common). Holding the actual certification has even given some a leg up on their un-certified competition in the PM marketplace. Translation for those skimming: PM certification can make you potentially WEALTHIER both in terms of your PM knowledge and your bank account. So, it seems a topic worthy of some chat pipe up, already! Speaking of wealth, dont forget to participate in the latest survey (on the front page) it takes just a few seconds, and it could change your life. Please login/register to read the entire article.
