Diane Larabee is a senior project manager at Allbritton, Peterson, Germond, Andrade and Rosenthal (APGAR). For more than 15 years, she has worked on telecommunications software implementations in the banking, financial services and chemical industries across the United States and Canada. Although her education has equipped her to be a first-class programmer and analyst, previous job experience had her literally laying and punching cable. She is an expert on cable management from both a hardware and software perspective. Clients ask for her by name because she’s really good at what she does.

"But sometimes there’s such a thing as being too good," Diane explained recently. "APGAR is not a big company. Recently, we underwent a corporate restructuring that proved so upsetting, half of our project managers quit. I was the only cable management expert left. Come to think of it, I was the only experienced person left in my entire region. All of a sudden, I was the Queen of Billability. I was 150 percent booked. I was working over 100 hours per week, never home and always at a client site. I was the darling of management, the toast of my clients, the girl of the hour.
